Happy Home Learning
The children will be bringing home a ‘Five Speckled Frogs’ rhyme set to make and use. Please follow the instructions sent home to enjoy your five speckled frogs together, we look forward to seeing photographs and reading your success tree flowers to hear all about your learning.
Foundation 2 Homework
This week we have been focusing on transition and writing about ourselves for our new teachers. Can you write a list of your favourite classroom activities?
In maths we have been solving problems using subtraction. Can you count back on a number line and find the answer to these subtraction sums?
9 – 5 = 6 – 4 = 8 – 7 = 5 – 3 =
Year 1 Homework
Maths – Can you find 3 things around your home that you should measure using metres? Then find 3 things that you should measure in cm’s. Please draw them and record them in your book.
Literacy – We would like you to research and write 3 facts about Islam in preparation for our multi-cultural studies week.
Year 2 Homework
Spellings – most, only, who, would, because, any, many, people, beautiful
Maths – Can you practise addition and subtraction facts within 20? E.g. 9 + 8, 12 + 6, 20 – 11, 17 – 9.
Literacy – Imagine you were there during The Great Fire of London. Can you write a diary entry?
What happened? How did you feel? Did you manage to save any of your belongings?
Multi- Cultural Week
Next week the children will be taking part in multi-cultural week which will include visits from dancers, musicians and a story teller. Each year group will produce follow up work and we invite you to come into school on Friday 8th July from 2.45pm onwards to see what the children have learnt.
Book Search
We would appreciate your help in finding our ‘lost’ books! Please check under beds, in cupboards and book bags etc. for any which may be hiding! If you find one, please return to school and place in the box in main reception. Thank you
Parking – Health & Safety
We would politely remind you to be courteous to other drivers, pedestrians and residents when parking outside the school premises. There have been a number of incidents recently which have caused unnecessary distress. The police make regular patrols and will prosecute any driver who has parked illegally.
RNLI Bun Sale
The children in Year 1 would like to thank everyone who came and bought their delicious buns and cakes. The amount raised is £166.15 and has been forwarded to the RNLI. Thank you
School Day Changes
We would remind you that the school day changes slightly when we return after the summer holidays.
Foundation 1 AM 8.45am – 11.45am
Foundation 1 PM 12pm – 3pm
Foundation Stage 2 9am – 3pm (Lunch 11.30am– 12.30pm)
Year 1 & 2 9am – 3pm (Lunch 12pm – 1pm)
All doors for Foundation Stage 2, Year 1 & Year 2 will be open from 8.50am and close at 9am prompt. Gates will be locked at 9.10am and unlocked at 2.45pm.
Messy Church
Everyone is invited to join in ‘Messy Church’ this Sunday at St Francis Church at 4pm. Enjoy crafts, worship and food together with your family. All welcome!
