Foundation Stage 1 Happy Home Learning
Can you sort and count the cutlery in your house into different sets? How did you do it? After your sorting and counting can you help your grown up by setting the table? You can continue carrying out this activity over the next few weeks during the festive period. Can you sort and count the cutlery in your house into different sets? How did you do it? Foundation 2 Homework
Literacy – This week we have been learning about The Snowman by Raymond Briggs and we have made a list of all of the items/materials that you would need to make a snowman. You could practise making lists at home for things that the children do on a regular basis, e.g. what items do they need before they can start getting dressed, brush their teeth, eat their dinner, etc. This week we have been practising segmenting and blending with the phonic sounds that we already know and practising reading and writing VC and CVC words. Can you continue to practise reading and writing two and three letter words at home?
Numeracy -This week we have been learning about 3D shapes and the children have learnt what they look like and their names. Have a shape hunt at home. Can your child find anything that is a cube, cuboid, cone, cylinder, pyramid or even a triangular prism?
Year 1 & 2 Homework
It’s time to get ‘Christmassy’ at home. Please read some Christmas stories and then write a Christmas story of your own. Remember to use adjectives and maybe you could include some of the spellings that you have been learning over the last few weeks.
Guided Reading Books
Could you please check to make sure that you have no guided reading books hiding in your child’s book bag or bedroom? Please return them to your child’s class teacher as soon as possible. Thank you
Class of the Week
Congratulations to the children in Mrs Stothard’s class who are ‘Class of the Week’ after achieving an attendance level of 98.2%
Christmas Performances
The children and staff have worked really hard preparing for our Christmas performances this year and we thank them for their tremendous efforts. We also thank our audience of parents, carers, family and friends who have taken the time to come and enjoy watching our super, talented children. Your feedback is always appreciated and we would love you to send an email or write a letter to school telling us what you thought. We will then share your comments with our Student Councillors who will pass on your feedback to all our children. The school email is bramley-sunnyside.infant@rotherham.gov.uk.
Carols at Christmas
Elim Christian Centre would love to invite you to a community carol concert in Silverbirch Children’s Centre, Flanderwell on Sunday 14th December from 3pm – 4pm.
