Homework
We would like you to continue with the Advent Reading Challenge until Christmas Day and then write about your favourite story in your homework book. If writing is too tricky, maybe you could draw a picture.
Class of the Week – 7th December to 11th December
Congratulations to the children in Class 6 who achieved a level of 96.7%. You are ‘Class of the Week’
Class of the Term – Autumn Term
We are thrilled that Unit 2 is ‘Class of the Term’ having attained an attendance level of 96.1%. We are very proud of all the children who have attended school regularly and on time. As a reward each child will have a dip in ‘The Treasure Box’.
Parent/Carer SPaG Class – Tuesday 19th January @ 9am or 5pm
If you are interested in taking part in the Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar Sessions, (SPaG), please register your interest with the office staff. Thank you.
Internet Safety
If your child is lucky enough to receive a computer/ipad for Christmas, may we respectfully remind you to check the Internet Privacy Settings before your child explores the World Wide Web. Please visit the Safeguarding section on our website should you need advice or instruction on how to keep your child ‘Cyber Safe’. www.bramleysunnysideinfant.co.uk
E Safety Information Sessions or Parents
A number of sessions have been arranged which are specifically designed to give parents vital information and advice regarding the safety and wellbeing of their children. The first session will take place at the Parent Forum Meeting on Monday 11th January at 4pm and the theme is ‘Anti-Bullying’. Other sessions are detailed below:
Monday 25th January @ 11.30 – Being kind online
Thursday 4th February @ 5pm – ‘Cyber Savvy’
Wednesday 17th February @ 9am to 12am – What is bullying? (Workshop 1)
Friday 19th February @ 9am to 11.30am – What is bullying? (Workshop 2)
The sessions & workshops will be delivered by Ann Foxley-Johnson who is a leading, experienced anti-bullying co-ordinator, whose work has been recognised locally and nationally. We hope to see you at these sessions and look forward to working with you to benefit your child’s wellbeing.
Special Christmas Services at St Francis’ Church
Sunday 20th December @ 4pm Carol Service
Christmas Eve @ 5pm Christingle Service
Christmas Eve @ 11pm Holy Communion
Christmas Day @ 10am Family Service
Rev Ward would love to see you at any of the services and has emphasised that the Christingle Service on Christmas Eve would be a wonderful experience for the children.
PE – Foundation Stage 2 Only
Please make sure your child has their full PE kit with them on the first Monday back after the Christmas Holidays and continue to do so every Monday for the rest of the half term.
Year 1 & 2 Visits
We are planning to take our Year 1 and Year 2 children on visits during the Spring Term. The topic for Year 1 is ‘Space’ and our visit will be to the science museum ‘Eureka’. The topic for Year 2 is ‘Ahoy there, me hearties!’ and we will be visiting ‘The Deep’. Further details will be sent out on the first week of Term.
Please remember that school closes at the earlier time of 2.30pm tomorrow, Friday 18th December and re-opens on Monday 4th January 2016.
