By April 15, 2016Newsletter

Happy Home Learning

Can you practise writing numbers? You could use paint, crayons or even water on the path outside. Maybe you could take a photograph to show us if you use an unusual method of writing the numbers!

Foundation 2 Homework

Literacy – This week we have been thinking of questions to ask on our visit to White Post Farm. Can you think of something you would like to find out and write a question in your homework book? Remember to use a question mark instead of a full stop!

Maths – We have been practising adding 2 amounts together. Can you practise adding practically, using different objects in your house? You could write the number sentences in your homework book.

Year 1 Homework

Maths – Please practice adding in your homework book. How many ways can you make 10 and 20? E.g. 7 + 3 = 10, 11 + 9 = 20, 4 + ? = 10

Literacy – Can you draw a picture of a safe beach? Please include red and yellow flags, a lifebuoy, a lifeboat and a lifeguard.

Year 2 Homework

Spellings – chocolate, factory, Charlie, children, golden, ticket, school, poor, family

Literacy – Please change the following singular nouns to plural:-

book, chair, baby, pony, donkey, monkey, bush, church, box

Maths – Can you find different combinations of coins to make 20p, 50p and £1?

Teenage Cancer Trust

Wickersley School and Sports College is KICKING CANCER on Saturday 16th April at 1pm, when teams will take park in a Football Zorbing competition. Miller Bear will be making an appearance and there will be games and activities for the whole family to take part in. Food and snacks will also be available making this a great day out for all the family.

Sport Relief

We thank you for your continued support with our fund raising efforts and would like to inform you that the total raised for Sport Relief is £140.

Attendance

We have received the monthly attendance data from the authority and have to inform you that our level is 95.4% which is below our expected level of 95.7%. Once again statistics show that this is mainly due to children being absent from school due to illness. We expect attendance to improve over the remainder of the school year and look forward to working with you to raise our level.

Class of the Week

Congratulations to the children in Unit 2 who have attained an attendance level of 98.9%. You are ‘Class of the Week’.
