Internet Safety
An internet safety issue has been raised by a primary school in Rotherham in relation to children thinking they are talking (or singing in this case) to another child when in fact it was an adult male who was posing as a 13 year old. The apps in this case were:
Musical.ly
Lip Sync Battle App
ROBLOX
Please consult our website and also the attached PDF.

Sign Language Course
There will be two courses starting in September at Kimberworth Family Centre teaching Level 1 and Level 2 Sign Language (BSL). For further information email tracey.lawton@rotherham.gov.uk or text 07944 567022
Special Visitor
On Tuesday, Year 2 had an exciting visit from the author, Ruth Cooper. The children really enjoyed listening to her story of ‘Sloop the Seagull – The Seagull Who Was Scared of The Sea’. They asked lots of questions about what it is like to be an author and they were very interested in Ruth Cooper’s responses. Ruth also gave the children lots of ideas for writing their own stories. Signed copies of the book will soon be available to buy at the reduced price of £5 (RRP: £6.99). A copy of the book is available to view in the school office. If you would like to order the book, please give your child’s name, class and £5 to the office staff.

Sunny Days
Summer has arrived and we would like to stress the importance of protecting your child from the beautiful sunshine that we are currently enjoying. Please make sure that a sun hat is provided to wear during outdoor activities and that you apply sun cream before arriving at school. Your child may bring cream to school but must apply it themselves as members of staff are not permitted to do this. Also, we encourage the children to drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration so please make sure that they have a water bottle in school. Thank you
