Newsletter 7 – Summer Term 19th May 2016
Happy Home Learning
We have been learning about the days of the week. Can you sing the Days of the Week song? What is your favourite day and why?
Foundation 2 Homework
Literacy – This week in literacy we have been looking at growing. We have read some non-fiction books on growing plants and also enjoyed reading Jasper’s Beanstalk. Can you write a list of things a plant needs to grow? Maths – We would like you to practise identifying ‘one less’ than a number. Ask your grown up to give you a number and tell them what is one less than that number. You can use a number line to help!
Year 1 Homework
Literacy – Can you think of an exciting fundraising event to raise money for the RNLI?
Maths – Can you ask your grown up to halve and quarter some objects? You could try an apple, a pizza or a cake.
Year 2 Homework
Topic – We would like you to get busy in the kitchen and make something chocolaty to celebrate our topic. Bring your bake into school on Monday to be judged in the Big Bramley Bake Off. The winners will be treated to ‘Tea at 3’ with Mrs Smith (date to be confirmed). Please get involved with all the stages of the process, from writing the shopping list, measuring the ingredients, baking and decorating.
Year 2 Cake Sale
We will be selling the cakes which the children have made for the ‘Big Bramley Bake Off’ in the hall on Tuesday 24th May at the end of the school day.
Class of the Week
Congratulations Class 10! You are ‘Class of the Week’ after attaining an attendance level of 99%.
Foundation Stage 1 Closures
Foundation Stage 1 will be closed to all current pupils on Thursday 30th June and Friday 1st July in order for the FS1 September Starters to visit the unit. Foundation Stage 2 will be open on both days as usual.
Health & Safety
We would remind you that the play equipment situated on the Foundation Stage playground is out of bounds to children who are waiting with parents and carers to collect children from the Units. Also, please do not allow children to climb on walls, fences and the pushchair shelter. Thank you
