Happy Home Learning
The children will be coming home with the Goldilocks & the 3 Bears rap, please could you practise this together.
Foundation Stage 2
Literacy – we have learned a new dangerous word ‘we’. We have also recapped our previous ones (I, the, to, no, go). Can you practise writing these words in your homework book?
Numeracy – we have been looking at 3D shapes and are learning the mathematical names for them. Help your child to spot 3D shapes around your home and when outdoors. Can they find a cylinder, cube, sphere, cone and cuboid?
Year 1
Reading – Please read your reading books. Can you find any words with our sound of the week which is ‘ay’ . (The rhyme that the children use for this sound is ‘May I play ay’.) Further information can be found in the Home School Diary.
Spellings – What, where, who, play, today, says, May.
Maths – Can you make something e.g. pizza, sandwich or biscuit. Tell a halving story ‘I started with one whole…. I cut/split it in half……..now I have two equal parts.’
Can you find some numbers/amounts that share into two equal parts?
Year 2
Spellings – age, huge, change, orange, village
Remember to practise other words with the ‘ge’ sound ready for the ‘Mystery Spellings’ check.
Maths – Halve the following numbers: 10, 6, 2, 12, 16, 4, 20, 8, 14, 18
Literacy – Can you add ‘ing’ or ‘ed’ to these verbs? Remember the rules we have learnt in class.

Children in Need
We will be taking part in the Children in Need 2016 – ‘The Big Spotacular’ on Friday 18th November. We are having a ‘spotty’ themed non uniform day for a small donation. There will be a ‘spotty’ bun sale during morning play time, all buns will be 30p each, all proceeds going to Children in Need. If you can help with donations of ‘spotty’ buns, please bring them to your child’s classroom on the morning.
Christmas Performances
Next week the newsletter will contain details of how to purchase tickets and how to help with costumes.
Food Taster Session
Thank you to all the families who attended the session, the feedback was very positive and more detailed feedback will be available in the near future once the questionnaires have been collated.
SENCO (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator)
As you are already Mrs Mottram, our SENCO is currently on maternity leave. In her absence, Mr Alex Gill will be the named SENCO for our school. You may already be familiar with Mr Gill as he previously worked as a teacher and SENCO at our Junior School. Mr Gill knows many of our children and families already and is extremely familiar with our school.
He will be holding a drop in session on Wednesday 30th November 2016 for any parents who wish to meet him.
Remembrance Day
The school council will be laying a wreath on behalf of all the children in school at the Cenotaph in Bramley on Remembrance Sunday at 11.00 am. Families are welcome to join the service.
School & Family Photos
Reminder, the photographer will be in school on Thursday 17th November to take school photographs. All children will be taken individually, but if you would also like siblings (infant school only) to have their photograph taken together, please inform the office staff. There are still a few places available for the Family Photo session after school.
Missing Dog
A 2 year old Pomeranian dog that answers to ‘Frankie’ was last seen outside our school on Friday 4th November. Please can you contact Darren/Rachael on 07861888255 or 07983472677 if you have any information or sightings to help his safe return home.
