Reading Celebration Week 2015

By February 27, 2015March 2nd, 2015School News

The week beginning Monday 2nd March will be our reading celebration week.

We will be having special visitors in assemblies and letting the children choose which classrooms they want to hear stories in at story times, as well as lots of reading activities during the day.

  • On World Book Day, Thursday 5th March, children may come dressed up as a character from a book.
  • The children, via their school councillors, have asked to hold a book sale for World Book Day. The sale will take place on Thursday 5th March at 2.30 in the hall. All books will be 50p. There will be tea, coffee and biscuits on sale, so please feel free to call in for a read and a cuppa! Any donations of children’s and adult’s books would be greatly received. Please bring the to the classroom next week. All proceeds from the sale will be going towards purchasing new exciting book titles for the special collection in school.
  • Send in your child’s favourite book (with their name in) with three reasons why other people should read it.
  • Volunteer to be a mystery reader on Tuesday 3rd March – ask your class teacher for more details

We look forward to seeing you in school next week!
