Happy Home Learning
Our story this week is ‘Pig in Knickers’? Can you tell your grown up where the pig lives and what happens in the story. Can you draw a picture of the pig in his knickers?
Our letter of the week is ‘S’. How many things can you find beginning with ‘S’? Look around your house and out and about. What names can you think of that begin with ‘S’?
Foundation 2 Homework
You will notice over the next few days that our self-registration in our classrooms has changed. Instead of posting your name in the box we would like you to write your name (including surname) on the paper. To get ready for this we would like you to practise writing your full name independently in your homework book. Can you write it 3 times?
In maths we would like you to go on a shape hunt around your house. Can you find some objects that are the same shape as a cube, a cylinder and a cone? You could even bring one to school to show us!For your homework during the Easter holidays can you create your own Easter map? You could draw an egg hunt and label it!
In maths we would like you to practise repeating patterns. Can you design your own Easter egg using repeating patterns? Draw the egg template in your homework book and use colours to make your pattern.
Year 1 Homework
Literacy – We are really excited about our visit to the seaside in a few weeks. Can you find out some information about Flamborough Lighthouse? Can you also find out 3 facts about the Royal National Lifeboat Institution?
Maths – Find four different 3d shaped objects around your home. Take photos of them and stick them into your homework book. Write about the properties of the shapes. E.g. How many sides? How many faces? How many corners? Do they have curved or straight edges?
Year 2 Homework
Spellings – tearful, hopeful, joyful, sadness, happiness, amazement, excitement
Maths – We would like you to solve some addition facts online. Go to www.topmarks.co.uk and search ‘hit the button’[. Click on number bonds, then addition within 20. Solve the problems and try to beat your score.
Literacy – Can you describe Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory using noun phrases? E.g. A mouth-watering chocolate waterfall gushed down the rocks into the melted chocolate river.
