Happy Home Learning
This week we have been learning about shapes. Can you find something in your house that is a square shape, a rectangle shape and a circle shape? Please help your child to discuss the properties of the shape (E.g. A square has 4 corners and 4 sides that are all the same length). We have also been learning a shape song can your child sing the song to you?
FS2 Homework
Literacy – This week in literacy we have been reading the book 'Shark in the Park'. We have been talking about the structure of a story and how every story has a beginning, middle and end. When you are reading stories with your child can you talk about the beginning, middle and end of each and discuss the characters. We will also be checking our tricky words next week so please practise reading and writing them.
Numeracy – This week in maths we have been learning about 2D and 3D shapes. We have been talking about the properties of these shapes and relating them to real objects. Can you have a look around your home to find and 3D shapes?
Year 1 Homework
Literacy – Can you create a story with an interesting setting and character? Remember to use fantastic adjectives and connectives like ‘because’.
Maths – We are learning about missing numbers in number sentences. Can you practise with our grown up sums like these:-
7 + ? = 10 ? + 5 = 25
Year 2 Homework
Spellings – precious, ferocious, vicious, delicious, scrumptious, suspicious
Literacy – Next week is Cowboy Week! Yeehaw! Can you research what a cowboy was like in The Wild West? Which famous cowboys can you research?
Numeracy – Number sequences. Can you make some missing number sequences? Try 3’s and 4’s.
Class of the Week 19th May – 23rd May 2014
Wow! Mrs Stothard’s class have done it again. With a level of 98.6% they are once again class of the week. Other classes are never far behind so keep attending school regularly and your class might receive the certificate next week.
Year 1 RNLI Fundraiser
We are thrilled to tell you that the sale of buns, cards and books, raised a total of £300. We are also very proud of Charlotte Smith in Mrs Mottram’s class. During the half term holidays she took the time to make her own buns and cakes and sold them to her family and friends. The total she raised was £35.86. We are very proud of you!
FABSS Summer Fair – Wednesday 2nd July
Fabss are working hard preparing for the Summer Fair and they are in need of donations of tubs of Pringles (small or large) and any unwanted teddy’s (in good condition) to help with the games they are hoping to run. Any donations can be handed in at reception. Thank you
Merlin’s Magical Show
To help enhance the children’s literacy we have invited The Travelling Theatre Group to our school to present ‘Merlin’s Magical Show’. The performance will take place on Tuesday 1st July and we are requesting a £1 donation towards the cost. Please complete the tear off slip below and return to school as soon as possible
Sports Day
FS1 Sports Day will be held on Friday 11th July @ 9.30 am for morning children and 1.30 pm for afternoon children. Reserve day will be Monday 14th July.
FS2, Y1 & Y2 Sports Day will be held on Tuesday 8th July at 9.30am. Reserve day will be Thursday 10th July. (Same times apply for reserve days)
Parent Walkabout
You are invited to our Parent Walkabout on Tuesday 8th July from 3.15pm to 5.30pm when you will have the opportunity to walk around school at your leisure, see some of the lovely work our children produce and talk to members of staff.
Bramley’s Got Talent
Parents of children in the final will be invited to watch their performances on Wednesday 16th July at 2pm.
Y2 Leavers Assembly
We always look forward to our Leavers Assembly when our children look back on their time spent in our school. This will take place on Tuesday 15th July @ 2pm. Make sure you bring some tissues!
