Newsletter 8 – Summer Term 11th June 2015
FS1 Happy Home Learning
Our challenge this week has been to write our numbers 0-10. Please help your child to practise writing their numbers using the correct formation. This can be in a variety of ways using chalks, painting with water outside, painting with paints, making your own number flashcards. We would love to see your home learning in school next week either by bringing in your work or by photographs.
FS2 Homework
Literacy – Please help your child to learn the words sent home with this week’s newsletter. We are aiming to learn them by heart (to be able to say them by sight and spell them correctly).
Numeracy – Please search out all your socks and help your child to practise counting in twos. What is the total and how many pairs have you got?
Year 1 Homework
Literacy – Can you draw a lifeboat volunteer and label their special protective clothes? i.e. helmet, life jacket, boots, waterproof suit.
(There are some photographs of our visit on the website which may help. www.bramleysunnysideinfant.co.uk)
Maths – Can you play a number game with your grown up? i.e. snakes & ladders, frustration, connect 4 etc.
Year 2 Homework
Spellings – old, hold, gold, told, most, only & both
Topic – Linked to our topic Native Americans, can you draw/paint or make something you like that we have been learning about? (e.g. tepee, headdress, longhouse or jewellery).
Maths – Could you have a go at some of the missing number problems?
For example
¨ ÷ 2 = 10
12 ÷ ¨ = 4
16 ÷ 4 = ¨
FABSS
FABSS will be at the Bramley Gala on Saturday 20th June. Donations of unopened Pringles, teddies and gift bags of all shapes & sizes would be much appreciated.
Class of the week – 1st June to 5th June
Class 5 are once again class of the week with a level of 99%. Well done!
We need your help
Does anyone have a family member/friend who is a vinyl floor fitter who would be willing to help us make some large numbers for outdoor maths activities? If you think you can help please contact reception.
Health & Safety
We have lots of wonderful outdoor play equipment for our children to use during the school day which enhances their play time. However, we must stress that children should not be allowed on the equipment before and after school. If a child is injured outside school hours, under the supervision of a parent/carer, the school is not liable. Please help us to keep your children safe. Thank you
Medical Appointments
Please inform the office staff if your child has a medical appointment rather than the class teacher or teaching assistants. This enables the absence to be entered directly into the register and avoids confusion or unnecessary texts being sent.
PE Inter School Sports
On Monday some of our Year 2 children took part in the Inter School Sports Challenge for our cluster group. We are very proud of their enthusiasm and good sportsmanship and congratulate our worthy winners. Well done to everyone who took part! Special congratulations go to our individual winners
Riley Wilkinson – Boy’s Sprint, Ryan Gambles – Boy’s Long Run, Connor Bannon – Boy’s Long Jump and Ruby Brooks – Girl’s Javelin.
Max Cards
The Max Card is a discount card for foster families and families of children with additional needs. Families simply show their Max Card upon entry to a venue in order to obtain free or discounted admission.
The scheme is designed to help these families save money on great days out at castles, zoos, bowling alleys and more. Further information is available by contacting NASRotherhamBranch@nas.org.uk
