Newsletter 9 – Summer Term 18th June 2015

FS1 Happy Home Learning
Please encourage your child to practise skipping, jumping and running for our sports day.
FS2 Homework
We would like you to get busy making your own mini beast at home. Bring them to school on Monday so that we can use them in our small world activities.
Year 1 Homework
Literacy – Can you design a poster to advertise a fundraising event for the RNLI?
Maths – Please sing the days of the week song and practise ordering and spelling them correctly. Challenge yourself by learning the months of the year and write what month your birthday is.
Practise spelling the danger words ‘where’ ‘could’ ‘one’ ‘why’.
Year 2 Homework
Spellings – Find, kind, mind, behind, child, wild, climb
Maths – Can you count a mixture of coins and make some addition and subtraction money problems. e.g. if I have £1.20 in my purse and I spent 10p, how much do I have now? If I have £1.50 in my purse and my mum gives me £1.00 more, how much do I have now?
Topic – Can you research totem poles? You can write facts about them, draw one or make one.
FABSS – Do you work for a company who runs a Match Funding Scheme?
Match funding or match giving is money for very little work. FABSS could be the recipient of extra cash for little additional effort. Match funding is a really easy way to increase our fundraising and can add as much as £1000 to the takings of one of our events. There are many employers who may match fund and a list is available on the school notice board. If you are able to help us in this way, please let us know and someone from FABSS will discuss this with you.
Class of the week – 8th June to 12th June 2015
We are very proud of our younger children this week. Unit 3 have achieved an attendance level of 98.8% and are class of the week. Well done!
Inset Day
Please remember that school is closed tomorrow for staff training. We are open as usual on Monday.
Parking
We are aware that there are difficulties with parking at drop off and collection times due to the main school staff car park being out of use. However, we would remind parents/carers to park considerately and where possible, walk to school. Access to the disabled bay located in the dining room car park is needed at all times and has recently been blocked on several occasions. We thank you for your cooperation at this time.
